I love this piece! The thing about black and white photos is that they obviously have no color that you can rely on to make the photo work. There are so many photographers (and artists in general) in the world that can take a nice color palette and subject matter and make a nice piece...but without a good composition. Yours is exquisite. My eye takes note of the illuminated pillar, but travels along the curve of the street. From there, it frolics from building to building enjoying the detail of lighted windows up to the darkness of the night. While staring at the lovely focused sky-scape perspective, you remember the pillar of light and behold the glowing columnated focus of the photo.

Now, I know this is just a photo of a cityscape, but I gave you 5 stars for Originality because I felt it focused more on the travel of the contours of the street and angles of the buildings opposed to a pillared building since it isn't smacked in the center. (thanks goodness)

5 stars for Vision because there is dynamism to this photo and an obvious thought process behind it. 5 stars for Technique because of the wonderful focus of the piece and composition. 5 stars for Impact...well, I've written a lot here, haven't I? It's obviously impacted me. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)" />
